MSgt. Juliet Gudgel, a quality assurance superintendent with the 354th Logistics Readiness Squadron at Eielson AFB, Alaska, has received a Bronze Star medal for her meritorious service in Iraq. Gudgel served as the military transition team first sergeant and logistics officer for the Basra Operations Command and Commando Battalion from March 17 to Sept. 28, 2010. While deployed, she participated in up to 70 mounted combat patrols, all without incident, and helped “foster successful meetings between security representatives and the Iraqi leadership,” according to Eielson officials. She also served as the Iraqi supply commander and led the command’s badge program, escorting 60 Iraqi army general officers and staff through the application process “to ensure the right people gained access to United States and coalition facilities in Iraq,” they said.
