According to a new USA Today/Gallup poll a majority of Americans do not want Congress to cut funds for the war in Iraq, even though a growing number believe the cause is lost. Some 59 percent of respondents now say the war was a mistake; that’s the highest percentage since 2003 and matches the number from September 2005. The new data brings the yearly average to 58 percent, and the yearly trend line shows a steady increase since the war began. And, the poll shows that 46 percent of Americans—the highest number to date—do not believe the US can win the war.
The Air Force budget would grow to $234 billion while Space Force spending would shrink to $26 billion under the White House's yearly ask.
