President Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka Trump made an unannounced trip to Dover AFB, Del., on Wednesday to witness the return of a fallen Navy SEAL, who was killed during the first known counter terrorism raid of his presidency. Chief Petty Officer William “Ryan” Owens, 36, was killed Jan. 28 during an attack on al-Qaeda forces in Yemen. “I just returned from an amazing visit with a great, great family at Dover,” said Trump after returning to the White House. “It is something very sad, very beautiful. Ryan, a great man.”
The U.S. military is maintaining a beefed-up presence in the Middle East, including fighters and air defense assets, following the U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities June 22 and subsequent retaliation by the Iranians against Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.
