Airmen of the 2nd Space Operations Squadron, Schriever AFB, Colo., are doubling the number of monitor stations that help them keep track of GPS satellites, reports AFSPC. The command combined data from two National Geospatial Intelligence Agency monitor stations and six 2nd SOPS monitor stations last month and plan to add four more NGA stations soon. The hookup of these extra monitors provides increased data for both satellite operators and users. AFSPC will now have more accurate data about the health of its sats and can respond more quickly to remedy problems, said Capt. Rebecca Hamilton, 2nd SOPS chief of GPS navigation payload analysis.
