The Air Force Life Cycle Management Agency at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, has awarded Lockheed Martin a contract worth up to $10 billion for the production of all future C130J aircraft delivery orders, including foreign military sales. Work will be completed at Lockheed’s Marietta, Ga., facility and is slated for completion by Aug. 18, 2026. Roughly $14 million from the Fiscal 2014-2016 aircraft procurement funds are being obligated at the time of award for the first delivery order, according to the contract announcement.
Aircraft readiness will suffer if Congress does not approve some $1.5 billion worth of spare parts the Air Force requested in its annual Unfunded Priorities List, sent to Capitol Hill last week, Chief of Staff Gen. David W. Allvin said.
