Twenty four emergency medical technician teams from across the Air Force came together Aug. 24-27 to compete to be the best EMT team in the service. The Air Force Medical Service EMT Rodeo, held at Cannon AFB, N.M., began as a small competition on base in 2007, and grew to include the entire service. “The Rodeo demonstrated the importance of our Air Force medics and tested their capacity to deliver emergency medical treatment in a high-stress environment,” Air Force Surgeon General Lt. Gen. Mark A. Ediger said in a release. This year’s competition included, for the first time, an airlift mission in a CV-22 Osprey, the release said. Crews competed in 17 separate scenarios, with a team from Eglin AFB, Fla., coming out on top.
