SMSgt. David Duncan of Kadena AB, Japan, is the first US airman to attend the three-week advanced leadership program at Singapore’s Armed Forces Warrant Officer School. Duncan, who is director of operations at Kadena’s Erwin Professional Military Education Center, is participating in courses dealing with topics like leadership, teambuilding, and new developments in warfare. His Singaporean hosts “have been nothing but fantastic hosts to me since I’ve been here,” he said. While attending as a student, he is also auditing the program in search of insights to add to USAF’s professional military education. And, Duncan said he hopes that the experience will help to build lasting ties and exchange. “We are hoping to bring two Singaporean staff sergeants through our Kadena NCOA this summer,” he said. Depot-level maintenance took longer than expected for nearly three-quarters of Air Force aircraft from fiscal 2019-2024, according to a new report, as unplanned repairs rise across the aging fleet. The report, from the Government Accountability Office, also found that the extent of the delays has been masked because officials often revise their target timelines after unplanned work occurs.
