? The Air Force has asked industry for ideas on creating the command and control of a “proactive defense” against cyber threats. The presolicitation notice, dated July 23, outlines service officials’ interest in finding contractors to help identify a C2 capability that orchestrates the dynamic employment of moving target defenses to protect the Air Force’s network and assure mission success. “By providing mobility to static network and computing resources within the enterprise, we create uncertainty for the attacker and can outmaneuver attacks to critical cyber infrastructure,” reads the notice. “However, without a command and control structure to plan, assess, and execute a coordinated defense, we may expose a larger attack surface to the network and increase the risk of cyber fratricide.” White papers are due by Aug. 29.
