The Air Force has inactivated the DOD Manned Space Flight Support Office at Patrick AFB, Fla., and shifted the work to a new unit—the Human Space Flight Support—under the 45th Space Wing’s Operations Group at Patrick. A Patrick news release states that the HSFS will “handle most of the tactical, day-to-day operations previously handled by DDMS.” It adds that DDMS “strategic operations” now fall under the Joint Force Component Command for Space at Vandenberg AFB, Calif.
