A ceremony last week marked the opening of a new bridge—the Maj. Troy L. Gilbert Bridge—that enables personnel at Luke AFB, Ariz., to travel from one side of the base to the other without crossing a public road. The base dedicated the bridge, which took 14 months to construct, to Gilbert, an F-16 pilot from Luke who was killed in Iraq in 2006 while providing close air support to coalition ground forces. Gilbert’s wife, Ginger, attended the ceremony. (Luke report by 2nd Lt. Bryan Bouchard)
