A couple of Dover AFB, Del., civilian airmen have received the Lt. Gen. Leo Marquez Award for 2007, signifying their excellence as aircraft maintainers. The Air Force named Greg Long, with the 436th Maintenance Squadron, as civilian manager of 2007, and Raymond Smith, also of the 436th AMS, as civilian technician of 2007. Both have long careers with the service. Long served four years on active duty and 22 years as an Air Reserve Technician and has served eight years as a civilian maintainer. Smith retired from active duty after 24 years in the Air Force and has been working at Dover as a civilian for two years. (Dover report by A1C Shen-Chia Chu)
Anduril and General Atomics will develop their Collaborative Combat Aircraft for the Air Force, beating out Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman, the service announced on April 24. But any of the non-selected companies can compete to actually manufacture the eventual design, the Air Force said.
