The 36th Munitions Squadron at Andersen AFB, Guam, inspected, re-palletized, loaded, and delivered more than over 7,700 M117 bombs to a Navy installation in the Marianas Islands, reports MSgt. The 750-pound bombs are remnants of the Vietnam War and were partially demilitarized three years ago but have been waiting for removal since a contractor defaulted. During the operation, squadron members determined that 20 of the bombs were unsafe for transport; an explosive ordinance disposal team destroyed the bombs.
