The Air Force has unveiled a new lightweight running short at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, in time for the Air Force Marathon that takes place at the base on Sept. 19. The new short is already on sale at the base exchange for $16.95 and will be available Air Force-wide starting Friday. The new garment features a durable, quick-drying nylon shell with polyester brief for moisture management, a 4.5-inch inseam, drawstring waist, and oversized inside back key pocket. It is the same shade of blue as the previous physical training uniform shorts, but without the USAF emblem and reflective material. The new running short is authorized for wear interchangeably with the current PTU shorts. The Air Force worked with New Balance to develop the new short based on airmen’s feedback.
