CMSgt. James Davis will be the next command chief of US Air Forces in Europe-Air Forces Africa, according to a release from the organization. He’ll assume his new duties on Aug. 18 at Ramstein AB, Germany, states the July 30 release. Davis has been serving as command chief of 9th Air Force at Shaw AFB, S.C., since August 2012. He will succeed CMSgt. Craig Adams, who is moving on to his next assignment as US European Command’s senior enlisted leader in Stuttgart, Germany. “I feel honored and privileged about being selected,” said Davis. “I look forward to working with the outstanding men and women of US Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa,” he said. A native of Memphis, Tenn., Davis entered the Air Force in January 1986 and has held leadership roles at the squadron, numbered air force, and major command levels. (Ramstein report by TSgt. The Air Force’s Hypersonic Attack Cruise Missile is behind schedule and may significantly overrun its expected cost, which could partially explain why the service is reviving the hypersonic AGM-183 Air-Launched Rapid-Response Weapon.
