Maj. Gen. Peggy Poore on Thursday took command of the Air Force Personnel Center during a ceremony at JBSA-Randolph, Tex. She succeeded Maj. Gen. A.J. Stewart, who led AFPC since August 2010 and is retiring from the Air Force, effective Oct. 1, following 32 years of service. “We know you are going to do great things, because you lead a great organization,” said Lt. Gen. Darrell Jones, deputy chief of staff for manpower, personnel, and services, to Poore at the change-of-command ceremony. Jones presided at the Aug. 1 event. “It’s a distinct honor and privilege to join the AFPC community,” said Poore who comes to the center after three years serving as the senior military assistant to the Air Force Secretary at the Pentagon.
