All American

The Air Force’s new physical training uniform is not only upgraded with better material and functionality, but is also 100-percent America made, according to the Air Force Uniform Office at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. American Power Source, a military clothing maker in Columbus, Miss., is supplying the new gear at rate of approximately 2,000 sets per week to meet the Air Force’s goal of receiving 7,500 sets per month. The new uniforms are being sold at Army Air Force Exchange Service stores. Earlier this month, members of the 14th Flying Training Wing at nearby Columbus Air Force Base visited the uniform production facility. “I know our folks will be pleased with the tremendous improvements to this uniform, and we certainly appreciate the hard work involved in making this [PTU] available,” said Col. Roger Watkins, 14th FTW commander. (Wright-Patterson report by Brad Jessmer)
