In addition to SSgt. Evan Jones (see above), during a joint ceremony April 29 at JB Lewis-McChord, Wash., four other combat controllers with the 22nd Special Tactics Squadron received Bronze Stars with Valor for their actions while deployed to Afghanistan. They are:
¡ MSgt. Jeffrey Guilmain, summer through fall 2006
¡ SSgt. Simon Malson, summer through winter 2008
¡ SSgt. Christopher Martin, summer 2008
¡ SSgt. Jeffrey Reiss, summer to winter 2008
And, another three combat controllers received Bronze Stars for their actions while deployed to Afghanistan. They are:
¡ TSgt. Christopher Keeler, 22nd STS, summer to winter 2008
¡ SSgt. Sean Mullins, 22nd STS, summer to winter 2008
¡ SrA. Mathew Matlock, 125th STS (ANG), fall 2008 through spring 2009
