A fuel tank problem with a rocket carrying a US Air Force Academy satellite has forced the delay of its launch until at least January, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette. The FaclonSat 2 was poised on Dec. 19 for a second launch attempt aboard Space-X, when high winds and fuel tank issues at the launch site on Kwajalein Atoll in the Pacific scrubbed the launch.
The Space Development Agency says it’s on track to issue its next batch of missile warning and tracking satellite contracts this month after those awards were delayed by the Pentagon’s decision to divert funds from the agency to pay troops during this fall’s prolonged government shutdown.
