Four airmen from the 66th Security Forces Squadron at Hanscom AFB, Mass., recently received medals for their service in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Maj. Michael Gimbrone, MSgt. Jody Laffon, SSgt. Jason Lussier, and SSgt. Theodore Yost II were all honored for their work while deployed to an Army base outside Mosul, Iraq, where they performed base security for a rotated Army unit, reports the Lexington Minuteman. Gimbrone received the Bronze Star; Laffon the Meritorious Service Medal; and Lussier and Yost each received Army Commendation Medals.
As Air Force leaders consider concepts of operations for Collaborative Combat Aircraft, sustainment in the field—and easing that support by using standard parts and limiting variants—should be a key consideration, according to a new study from AFA's Mitchell Institute of Aerospace Studies.
