Two Georgia colleges have agreed to form partnerships with Warner Robins Air Logistics Center in Georgia and the Defense Acquisition University, based in Virginia, reports The Telegraph. A release from Macon State College, which signed an agreement with WRALC that center officials hope will help them address their aging workforce issue, states that the school will add government contracting courses under its bachelor of science in business degree. And, Middle Georgia Technical College signed an agreement with DAU to establish a satellite DAU operation on the college campus in Warner Robins, Ga.
The emphasis on speed in the Pentagon’s newly unveiled slate of acquisition reforms may come with increased near-term cost increases, analysts say. But according to U.S. defense officials, the new weapons-buying construct provides the military with enough flexibility to prevent runaway budget overruns in major programs.
