According to the Korean newspaper Hankyoreh, Washington and Seoul are talking about creating something called the “Korean Peninsular Air Force Post Command,” which would take command of air forces on the peninsula, eclipsing 7th Air Force at Osan AB, South Korea. That would appear at odds with a statement last week by Gen. Paul Hester, commander of Pacific Air Forces, who said that control of USAF assets in Korea would remain with 7th Air Force.
Anduril and General Atomics will develop their Collaborative Combat Aircraft for the Air Force, beating out Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman, the service announced on April 24. But any of the non-selected companies can compete to actually manufacture the eventual design, the Air Force said.
