The head of the National Guard Bureau, Army Lt. Gen. Steven Blum, told lawmakers last week that he had a discussion with Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Michael Moseley about his recent proposals to improve the Air National Guard—proposals that raised hackles within the Senate’s National Guard Caucus. Blum said of the meeting: “It was frank, and it was very candid, and ultimately it was very collegial.” He went on to say that he believes the Air Force, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve are “in a good place with Total Force right now,” and added that all three have “a more common vision than they had before that meeting.” (Read more in “A New Dawn for Total Force.”)
