Following Hurricane Georges, Air Mobility Command, Air Force Reserve, and Air National Guard transport crews deliver water, generators, construction supplies, plastic sheeting, and ice from all over the US to Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and southern Mississippi, flying at least 150 missions.
Defense industry leaders say the Air Force needs to be able to update the software on its munitions multiple times a day, not every few months, and a new Pentagon instruction released last week could enable that.
