Air Force Reserve Command launched a mobile app on Oct. 30 to give its airmen access to information that can help bring balance to their busy, stressful lives, announced command officials. This app is part of AFRC’s Wingman Toolkit outreach effort that is designed to connect Reservists and their families with resources to help them overcome stress and strengthen their physical, mental, social, and spiritual health, according to the command’s release. Lt Col David Ubelhor, chief mental health consultant to the AFRC command surgeon, said the app will “help airmen be better prepared to get themselves and others to safer, healthier places in life.” He added, “There are also reminders about the suicide-intervention method to ‘ask, care, and escort,’ and quick access to the 24-hour crisis line.” The mobile app, available for Android-based and Apple mobile devices, is an extension of AFRC’s Wingman Toolkit website, according to the release.
Depot-level maintenance took longer than expected for nearly three-quarters of Air Force aircraft from fiscal 2019-2024, according to a new report, as unplanned repairs rise across the aging fleet. The report, from the Government Accountability Office, also found that the extent of the delays has been masked because officials often revise their target timelines after unplanned work occurs.
