Air Force Reservists with Det. 1 of the 442nd Fighter Wing flew active duty A-10Cs at their new home at Moody AFB, Ga., on June 18. The 442nd FW, also an A-10 unit, calls Whiteman AFB, Mo., home, but some of its Reservists—pilots and maintainers—are part of a Total Force Initiative effort that has them serving in Georgia with the active 23rd Wing. First, the Reservists had to set up shop at Moody, and then get “back into the flying business” to refresh the pilots on the revamped Warthog, said Lt. Col. Mickey Moore, Det. 1 commander.
