Officials opened five new and renovated facilities at Goodfellow AFB, Tex., including a dining facility, dormitory, learning center, student center, and marines’ training building, according to a base release. Base personnel held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Jan. 17 to mark the opening of these buildings, states a Goodfellow release. The $5.2 million renovation to one of the base’s dining halls, the Cressman Dining Facility, replaced its decrepit floor structure, while the new $14 million Pipeline Student Dormitory will allow the 315th Training Squadron more student capacity by housing up to 189 female trainees, according to the Jan. 22 release. The new $12 million Consolidated Learning Center brings the former Airman Leadership School, base library, career development services, language testing, and first-term airman support under the same roof. The new $650,000 Student Center-Crossroads will provide students a place to relax, socialize, and communicate outside of class.
