Air Force Magazine will be available for sale at select Barnes & Noble stores around the country beginning in January. The Air Force Association worked with Ingram Periodicals, a publishing and distribution company in La Vergne, Tenn., to establish Air Force Magazine sales at the largest retail bookseller in the US. The magazine cover price is $8 a copy, with the exception of the Air Force almanac—now in the June issue—which will be $18. The February issue, which will be released in early January, will be the first to hit the bookshelves.
The six-week government shutdown did not affect the hours flown by Air Force pilots, a service spokesperson told Air & Space Forces Magazine—avoiding what could have been a major blow at a time when flying hours are already lower than they have been in decades.
