The Library of Congress has acquired the touring exhibit comprising 60 large-format, black-and-white photographs that photographer Nicholas Price calls “Cleared Hot! An Exclusive and Personal Photographic Journey into the US Air Force.” Price spent 18 months, shooting some 8,000 photos, primarily of operations at Nellis and Creech Air Force Bases in Nevada. He selected the 60 photos that became the “Cleared Hot” exhibit, which the National Museum of the US Air Force first displayed in October 2007 as part of the service’s 60th anniversary celebration. The Library of Congress will make this “compelling photographic essay” available to researchers as a “contemporary counterpart to our historic resources,” said Helena Zinkham, acting chief of the Prints and Photographs Division.
