MSgt. James Nelson of the 33rd Operations Group at Eglin AFB, Fla., has received a Bronze Star medal, Eglin officials announced Wednesday. Nelson was recognized for his meritorious service during a recent deployment to Joint Base Balad, Iraq. He has been assigned to the group’s intelligence flight since 2005. The Space Development Agency says it’s on track to issue its next batch of missile warning and tracking satellite contracts this month after those awards were delayed by the Pentagon’s decision to divert funds from the agency to pay troops during this fall’s prolonged government shutdown.
