Five Army Air Forces airmen finally received Bronze Stars for their heroic actions in World War II. The airmen—whose paperwork was misfiled and rediscovered 62 years later—received their medals during a ceremony in Washington. They were unaware they were up for the prestigious award until a 39th Troop Carrier Association member contacted them with the news. The five men were just a few on the long list of the 317th Troop Carrier Group airmen authorized for the medal, but many had passed away or could not be contacted. (Read their names and more here.)
Anduril and General Atomics will develop their Collaborative Combat Aircraft for the Air Force, beating out Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman, the service announced on April 24. But any of the non-selected companies can compete to actually manufacture the eventual design the Air Force said.
