Needing to bolster fundraising efforts for the memorial to honor those killed by the 9/11 terrorist attack on the Pentagon, the Pentagon Memorial Fund organizers have turned to the ever-popular online auction giant eBay. The auctions, which run through Oct. 15, feature items such as a weekend at the Indianapolis 500, tickets to the Atlantic Coast Conference football championship game, Disney on Ice, restaurant meals, and hotel stays. The Space Development Agency says it’s on track to issue its next batch of missile warning and tracking satellite contracts this month after those awards were delayed by the Pentagon’s decision to divert funds from the agency to pay troops during this fall’s prolonged government shutdown.
