The Air War College at Air University, Maxwell AFB, Ala., is well on its way toward getting Phase II certification for Joint Professional Military Education. Once approved by the Joint Chiefs Chairman, AWC Phase II coursework graduates achieve the all-important joint specialty rating. AWC is the second senior service school to get the mandatory certification—the Marine Corps War College was first.
The Air Force is on track to reach its annual goal of graduating 1,500 new pilots that had proved elusive to this point, one year after the service launched a sweeping overhaul of its undergraduate pilot training program, Air Education and Training Command said Sept. 14.
