The Army has selected the General Atomics Predator unmanned aircraft variant known as the Warrior for its Extended Range Multi-Purpose UAV Program. The Warrior is designed for long-range operation, and both unmanned surveillance and attack capabilities—along with double the weapons capability of USAF’s Predator. Someone should ask why the Army needs a long-range aircraft.
Anduril and General Atomics will develop their Collaborative Combat Aircraft for the Air Force, beating out Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman, the service announced on April 24. But any of the non-selected companies can compete to actually manufacture the eventual design, the Air Force said.
