Veterans Affairs plans to hire an additional 100 new employees to handle readjustment counseling for returning combat veterans. They will be assigned to some of the VA’s 209 community-based Vet Centers. These 100 are in addition to 100 new medical center employees and another 100 new Vet Center employees—combat veterans themselves—for outreach efforts, states a VA release. VA also plans to hold a four-day mental health care meeting in Washington in July, bringing in VA’s top mental health experts from around the country.

David Allvin told the Senate Armed Services Committee. That means advances in one will fuel advances in the other.
