The Air Force has begun sending to USAF facilities around the world to jump start the transition to a new centralized financial services operation. The teams will spend the next nine months indoctrinating local finance personnel develop the process that will put travel and pay voucher processing in the hands of a new Air Force Financial Services Center opening at Ellsworth AFB, S.D. The service expects to save more than $200 million in the first 10 years of operation.
The Air Force plans to finalize an acquisition strategy for its new Looking Glass nuclear command, control, and communications program by September—part of a prelude to a significant increase in the service’s NC3 spending in the coming years.
