The Air Force has awarded a Bronze Star medal to Capt. Dana Metzger, operations officer for the 437th Security Forces Squadron at Charleston AFB, S.C, for his actions while deployed to Iraq. SSgt. Jennifer Arredondo reports that Metzger led the Iraqi Corrections Officer Training Academy and helped establish a training regimen that produced more than 1,000 certified Iraqi corrections officers.
The Air Force wants to spend more than a half billion dollars through 2031 on a new protection system designed for cargo and refueling aircraft that features onboard sensors and weapons to track and take down enemy missiles and drones.
