The Air Force Real Property Agency last week transferred the last 3.5 acre parcel of the former Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base in Ohio to the Columbus (Ohio) Regional Airports Authority. The Air Force closed Rickenbacker in 1994 as part of the 1991 BRAC decisions. Rickenbacker Airport still supports elements of the Ohio Air National Guard, including the 121st Air Refueling Wing, and other military units.
U.S. Air Forces Central has awarded an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract worth up to $270 million to a California-based company to provide an ultra-long range, solar-powered drone capable of 75 hours of flight.
