The Michigan Adjutant General, Air National Guard Maj. Gen. Tom Cutler, is searching for a new interim mission for the 110th Fighter Wing in Battle Creek, which loses its A-10s to Selfridge by 2011. The Battle Creek unit is in line for the new Joint Cargo Aircraft, however, now it’s not supposed to arrive before 2012, reports the Lansing State Journal. Cutler would like to get another flying mission. Good luck.
The Air Force said May 4 it has approved the T-7A Red Hawk trainer aircraft to move into low-rate production and awarded Boeing a $219 million contract to start building the first 14 production jets.
