URS Corp. will provide engineering and program management services to the Joint Unmanned Aircraft Systems Center of Excellence at Creech AFB, Nev. under a three-year contract announced Jan 2. Under the terms of the indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity deal, the company’s EG&G Division can be tasked to perform activities including logistics, test and evaluation management, modeling and simulation, as well as administrative, contract, financial, data, and security management functions. The maximum value of the work is $60 million. “We are very pleased with this award, which underscores the company’s position as a leader in providing advanced engineering, logistics and program management services to the US Department of Defense,” said Randall Wotring, EG&G Division president. URS has been providing maintenance support services for the Air Force’s MQ-1 Predators at Creech since 2005. “We are excited to have the opportunity to expand our work at the base,” said Wotring.
The Space Force’s small size has limited its capacity to consider what role it will play in future operations on and around the moon. That needs to change, according to Vice Chief of Operations Gen. Shawn Bratton.
