And, federal agencies get first shot. The city of Sunnyvale apparently has asked for some extra money and an extension until next summer to make its recommendation. Meanwhile, the VA has put in a bid for some of the land and some local area affordable housing groups have expressed interest.
The United States Air Force is flying less than historic norms and funding for acquisition and readiness is on a path to further hollow out this too small and old force to that is incapable of sustaining an enduring combat air campaign.
