Maintenance technicians at the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center in Georgia have worked with Boeing to acquire two maintenance platforms that will enable them to work under the wings of the C-17 airlifters more safely and more effectively, reports Amanda Creel. The pre-platform work was done via a man lift that had to be driven from spot to spot.
The six-week government shutdown did not affect the hours flown by Air Force pilots, a service spokesperson told Air & Space Forces Magazine—avoiding what could have been a major blow at a time when flying hours are already lower than they have been in decades.
