Turkey has provided some 135,000 pounds of equipment and supplies for operations in Afghanistan—all of it airlifted by USAF C-17s deployed to Incirlik AB, Turkey. Active, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve airmen of the 728th Air Mobility Squadron at Incirlik loaded the material, including helicopters, ambulances, and various shipping containers, which the C-17s airlifted to Kabul Air Base in Afghanistan.

David Allvin told the Senate Armed Services Committee. That means advances in one will fuel advances in the other.
