A Bronze to IMA Hogan: The Air Force has awarded a Bronze Star to Air Force Reserve Command’s Lt. Col. Joe Hogan, an individual mobilization augmentee at the 72nd Security Forces Squadron, Tinker AFB, Okla. The 33-year veteran moved airmen out of the danger area and stayed to man the security post when an enemy rocket struck the Kirkuk AB, Iraq, munitions storage area in June 2004.
The Air Force is spending heavily on F-22 improvements through the end of the decade, suggesting it may not retire the jet in 2030 as it previously planned. New sensors, fuel tanks, communications, and electronic warfare systems are among the upgrades that comprise the package.
