SrA. James D. Harris at Travis AFB, Calif., died from injuries he received after falling while working on the Travis flight line, reports KTXL TV in Fairfield, Calif. Harris was a member of the 660th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Travis. He died Dec. 21.
The six-week government shutdown did not affect the hours flown by Air Force pilots, a service spokesperson told Air & Space Forces Magazine—avoiding what could have been a major blow at a time when flying hours are already lower than they have been in decades.
