Air Force Special Operations Command plans to install a special tactics squadron at its new western outpost, Cannon AFB, N.M., in addition to special ops flying units and aircraft. The Portales News Tribune reports that the special tactics unit will comprise about 100 personnel, including combat controllers and pararescue jumpers.
Lt. Gen. Stephen L. Davis, the Department of the Air Force’s top internal watchdog, has been nominated to lead Air Force Global Strike Command, which oversees the service’s bombers and intercontinental ballistic missiles.
