Officials at Andersen AFB, Guam, have said the base will get around 3,000 new personnel in 2007 as part of the overall buildup of operations at the key Pacific region facility, reports Associated Press news service. Air Force leaders have been talking for some time about building up Andersen, including adding a permanent unit of Global Hawk unmanned aerial vehicles.

But any of the non-selected companies can compete to actually manufacture the eventual design, the Air Force said.
