The Arizona Daily Star reports that one airman died and another was injured Sept. 12 when they were struck by a forklift as they walked across a parking lot at Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz. A subsequent report revealed that the two airmen were MSgt. Melvin Peele and MSgt. Lisa Peele, husband and wife. It was the husband who died on the scene.
The Air Force is planning to spend $2.19 billion over the next five years to acquire new C-37 jets for transporting military and civilian leaders. That’s on top of another $1.17 billion in projected funding for the VC-25B “Air Force One” replacement.
