Stopping at Andersen AFB, Guam, on his tour of USAF bases in the Pacific Region, Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne noted big changes to come for the Pacific island facility, mentioning the planned addition of Global Hawk unmanned aerial vehicles and adding that aerial refuelers might be in the picture, as well. He said that the Air Force envisions a future for Andersen that would include “possibly a permanent tanker squadron.”
The Space Development Agency says it’s on track to issue its next batch of missile warning and tracking satellite contracts this month after those awards were delayed by the Pentagon’s decision to divert funds from the agency to pay troops during this fall’s prolonged government shutdown.
