Missile Unit Relocating

Air Force Global Strike Command is relocating its Missile Engineer Squadron from Peterson AFB, Colo., to F.E. Warren AFB, Wyo. “The unit is small but critical, with unique deeply technical capabilities that can best be integrated day to day if it is closer to its primary customers—the missile wings,” said Lt. Gen. Jim Kowalski, AFGSC commander, in a release Wednesday. He added, “F.E. Warren is the best location to provide this support.” Once the move is complete, the 24-member unit will be collocated with the 90th Missile Wing, one of USAF’s three Minuteman III ICBM wings. “It makes sense to keep this unit near a major installation we already have in our command,” explained Kowalski. “An already close working relationship will be bolstered by a close proximity to the people and equipment they serve.” The squadron provides direct real-property engineering support to the ICBM bases.
