Maj. Gen. Michael Gould has been nominated to receive a third star to be the next superintendent of the Air Force Academy, the Department of Defense announced yesterday. Gould is currently director of operations and plans for US Transportation Command. If confirmed by the Senate, he would replace Lt. Gen. John Regni, who has led the academy since October 2005 and will retire later this year.
The Air Force plans to add external weapons pylons on the B-1B bomber, both to increase the number of aircraft that can test hypersonic missiles and expand the Lancer’s loadout as USAF transitions to the B-21 bomber.
